What happens to what you write

Your account

You sign in with an email address and a password. Both are held by Supabase, the service Ideoria uses for sign-in; Ideoria's own database never stores your email address. It keeps the name Ideoria uses for you, your pen name if you give one, and a profile picture if you choose one.

Your books

Your books live in Ideoria's database, and their pictures and prepared files in Ideoria's file storage. Every save is kept as a version, so earlier writing is never overwritten. A book stays private — readable only by the people you give access to — until you publish a prepared version of it.

Alush and AI

You can write without AI at all. When you do ask Alush — in a conversation, for a reading of a chapter or of a manuscript you bring in, or for picture options — what the request needs is sent to OpenAI to be processed: your message, the passage or chapter it is about, your notes on the book and its Book World, or, for pictures, what the picture should show and the pictures chosen to keep it consistent.

For text, Ideoria asks OpenAI not to store the exchange for later retrieval; OpenAI's own terms for its API apply to what it receives. Ideoria keeps a copy of each request and answer with your book, as part of its history. Nothing Alush suggests changes your book until you choose it.

Publishing

When you publish a prepared version, readers see that version — never your working manuscript, notes, Book World or conversations. An unlisted book can be read by anyone with its link; a public one appears in the library. Hearts, kept books and comments are shown under the name a reader chose: their pen name, or their display name if they have none.

On your device

Ideoria sets the cookies that keep you signed in, and no advertising or tracking cookies; its pages run no advertising or analytics scripts. The Reader remembers its appearance and your place on the device you read on. Writing that isn't saved yet is kept only in the open tab.

Who carries and keeps it

Vercel runs Ideoria's web application. Cloudflare carries its traffic and stores its pictures and files. Supabase provides sign-in and the database. OpenAI processes the requests you make to Alush. Ideoria's own server connects them.

What you can do

You can download each prepared version of a book (web, EPUB, Word and PDF) from Publish, and take a published book offline at any time. Exporting everything in your account at once, and deleting your account, aren't available in Ideoria yet; until they are, write to the address below.
